About the position

The Process Engineer for Plating and Wet Process is a critical role focused on enhancing production excellence, quality improvements, and process optimization within the manufacturing facility. This position requires a proactive approach and a commitment to driving productivity and efficiency while collaborating closely with various departments and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering initiatives in the Plating and Wet Process areas, recommending and modifying processes to optimize performance.
  • Drive quality improvement efforts, analyze root causes of quality issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist Supervisors with process training, procedure adherence, and troubleshooting; ensure knowledge transfer through documentation.
  • Conduct regular process and operator audits to identify and correct procedural deviations.
  • Engage with vendors and communicate effectively with Maintenance, Production, and Lab/WWT teams for issue resolution and operational improvements.
  • Lead projects focused on productivity enhancement, waste reduction, cost control, and safety improvements.
  • Become proficient in equipment operation and serve as a technical resource, answering process-related questions and providing guidance to production staff.
  • Document process improvements and ensure information is accessible to the broader engineering and production teams.
  • Be available for consultation on process issues outside of regular working hours if needed.
  • Interface with CAM, customers, and other engineers to discuss production capabilities and process limitations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related Science or Engineering field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role is required.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to engineering and manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to communicate complex process information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and problem resolution.
  • A meticulous approach to process auditing, documentation, and quality control.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred PCB experience but not required.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to sister facilities for training or support purposes.
