About the position

The Chemical Process Engineer (Senior) at Tremco Construction Products Group plays a crucial role in ensuring safety, maintaining product quality, and enhancing process efficiency within a chemical production environment. This position is integral to the company's operations, which encompass various brands and divisions, including Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing, Roofing & Building Maintenance, and more. The engineer will be actively involved in on-floor operations and will lead significant projects related to process equipment, emphasizing the promotion of a LEAN culture throughout the organization. In this role, the engineer will lead safety management initiatives, collaborating closely with shift supervisors to resolve complex safety issues. They will conduct and oversee scheduled Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA), proactively monitoring and addressing potential safety concerns. Utilizing DAKOTA software, the engineer will manage compliance, incident reporting, and safety management effectively. The Chemical Process Engineer will also be responsible for developing and implementing "standard work" practices to enhance the LEAN culture within the facility. They will manage activities on Engineering Tier and accountability boards, conducting daily GEMBA Walks to facilitate education and communication among team members. A key focus will be on productivity improvement by eliminating non-value-added activities through the application of engineering principles. The engineer will work to maximize equipment efficiency to ensure optimal product quality and will train operators on quality specifications. Additionally, the engineer will participate as a member of the facility's Quality Improvement Council (QIC), focusing on root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement. They will manage significant process projects, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints, and will mentor less experienced peers, providing guidance and expertise to foster their development.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in a chemical production environment.
