About the position

The Chemical Process Engineer is a technical leader responsible for enhancing manufacturing processes and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role focuses on continuous improvement to boost customer satisfaction and operational efficiency, serving as the primary contact for manufacturing processes in their area.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement improvements to current processes using continuous improvement tools.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP regulations regarding process and cleaning validation.
  • Complete exception investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain all process flow diagrams and material balances for assigned processes.
  • Support customer audits and regulatory agency audits as the subject matter expert for assigned processes.
  • Collaborate with plant safety to maintain process-specific safety information.
  • Work with plant environmental teams to maintain process-specific environmental information.
  • Simulate scheduling capabilities for complex operating scenarios in collaboration with plant logistics and planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in engineering or a technical related field (e.g., biology, chemistry).
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of directly related experience in chemical processing engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of chemistry, physics, and engineering principles.
  • Experience with a variety of unit operations and both batch and continuous processes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, from operations to senior management, in both oral and written formats.
  • Knowledge of cGMP and PSM regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) regulations.
