The Chemical Process Engineer position at our El Dorado, AR facility offers an exciting opportunity to join an expanding leader in the chemical industry. As the Site Chemical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the chemical process units by implementing improvements, overseeing equipment upgrades, troubleshooting issues, and managing process safety management (PSM) protocols. This position requires a deep understanding of various chemical engineering principles and practices, particularly in relation to reactors, evaporators, pumps, valves, compressors, piping, instrumentation, and distributed control systems (DCS). You will be responsible for ensuring that our processes operate efficiently and safely while meeting production goals and quality standards. In this role, you will actively participate in process optimization and troubleshooting operational issues. You will analyze operating procedures and the functions of equipment and machinery to enhance raw material efficiency and improve product quality. Your expertise will be essential in determining the effective use of unit operations, balancing process requirements with economic evaluations, operator effectiveness, and safety considerations. You will direct the activities of operators on various equipment, including condensers, absorption and evaporation towers, and pipelines, to achieve the desired chemical or physical changes. Additionally, you will perform tests and measurements throughout the production stages to monitor control over critical variables such as temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure. You will also support capital projects by contributing to designs, plant layouts, and overseeing workers engaged in constructing and improving equipment for commercial-scale processes. Your role will include designing equipment for the movement, storage, and packaging of liquids and gases, as well as providing technical assistance to the Environmental Department to address environmental challenges.
