The Chemical Process Engineer optimizes the operational conditions to ensure that finished products meet the quality and reliability targets. This role involves designing operational strategies, procedures, and methods according to Formula Card and Finished Product variables. The engineer will plan and undertake scheduled process interventions in the cell, carry out routine reviews on operational conditions, raw material quality, addition systems, and process conditions to avoid out of compliance and other problems with production. In addition, the Chemical Process Engineer will respond to breakdowns and adjust operational parameters when needed, helping with diagnosing faults and breakdown problems. They will implement adjustments and ensure equipment is working correctly, supporting emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs. Continuous review of operational procedures is essential, ensuring all of them are updated and approved by QA and R&D, and that the technical documentation system reflects the current operating conditions. The role also includes ensuring the operator training system is active and updated, training production operators to increase staff capability, and implementing operational validation systems to ensure operators are following them. Collaboration with local and regional QA and R&D functions is necessary to ensure procedures, documentation, and standards are correctly applied and documented, following up on any deviations and leading the definition of action plans to remediate them. The Chemical Process Engineer will cooperate with Cell HPS & Reliability Engineers to develop standards and improve the effectiveness of activities, ensuring the plant meets regulatory requirements for the process and that projects are completed on time. Evaluating the safety and environmental impact of processes and assessing risks to employees and the community is also a critical part of this role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering required (Masters preferred)
  • 1-2 years previous relevant work experience
  • Knowledge and experience with liquid chemical processing and raw materials to finished product is preferred.
