About the position

The Chemical Process Engineer position is a full-time role based in Los Angeles, responsible for optimizing production processes associated with a specific operating unit. The engineer will focus on enhancing quality, yields, and throughput while ensuring compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements. This role is critical in monitoring production processes and ensuring that all product specifications are met consistently. The engineer will be tasked with monitoring shift and daily production product sample results, making necessary adjustments to in-process targets to meet lot parameters. Participation in and leadership of initiatives aimed at improving unit productivity and reliability will be a key responsibility. The position also involves supervising plant test runs, implementing new processing designs and equipment, and providing training as required. In addition to optimizing plant production for both rate and quality, the engineer will provide certified analysis information regarding finished products to customers. The role includes assisting laboratory supervision by analyzing lab data and providing constructive feedback. Furthermore, the engineer will monitor all incoming raw materials to ensure compliance with specifications, thereby maintaining the integrity of the production process.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize production processes associated with an individual operating unit.
  • Monitor shift and daily production product sample results to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Adjust in-process targets to meet lot parameters.
  • Participate and lead efforts to improve assigned unit productivity and reliability.
  • Supervise plant test runs and implement new processing designs and equipment.
  • Train staff as required on new processes and equipment.
  • Optimize plant production for rate and quality.
  • Provide certified analysis information regarding finished products to customers.
  • Assist laboratory supervision by analyzing lab data and providing feedback.
  • Monitor incoming raw materials for specification compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in a plant manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six Sigma training preferred, but not required. Six Sigma Green Belt training will be provided.
