About the position

BAE Systems is seeking a Process Improvement / Chemical Engineer to support the Explosives Manufacturing Division in producing energetic materials for government and commercial customers. The role involves providing engineering support, developing and updating technical documentation, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and facilitating process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide process engineering support to the Explosives Manufacturing Division
• Develop new and redline existing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
• Develop new and redline existing Interlock Narratives
• Ensure production schedules are met in accordance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
• Facilitate and/or support improvement projects, maintenance efforts, and aid in process troubleshooting
• Provide on call Technical support
• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for equipment and operational issues
• Develop new and update operating procedures and assist with training efforts
• Ability to multitask and communicate with support organizations
• Interact with Customers and Suppliers
• Lead/Support Process Hazard Analysis for new and existing processes
• Develop and implement quality, safety, and process improvements in accordance with management of change requirements

Requirements

• 3 or More Years of Chemical Engineering Experience
• Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Controls, or Similar Discipline
• Must be 21 years of age

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a chemicals manufacturing facility
• Experience in Process Hazard Analysis
• Experience with Distillation/Evaporation/Recrystallization/Reactor Process Equipment
• Experience Troubleshooting Process Issues
• Experience in Management of Change and Continuous Improvement
