About the position

The Chemical Process Engineer position at Randstad US in Bridgeton, NJ, is a permanent role focused on providing technical support and guidance in a chemical manufacturing environment, specifically in distillation processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering and experience in optimizing and troubleshooting distillation operations to enhance efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and guidance to operations personnel to ensure safe and efficient operation of distillation equipment.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials for distillation processes.
• Optimize distillation processes to improve efficiency, throughput, and product quality.
• Perform process troubleshooting and root cause analysis to identify and resolve operational issues, and material balances.
• Develop and implement process improvements to reduce energy consumption, waste generation, and environmental impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and reclaim to implement process improvements and troubleshoot issues.
• Participate in process hazard analyses (PHA) and management of change (MOC) processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Support new product development initiatives by providing expertise on distillation processes.

Requirements

• Minimum B.S. in Chemical Engineering and at least 8 years of chemical engineering experience in manufacturing.
• At least 3 years of experience in process/production engineering regarding distillation.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of process simulation software.
• Strong analytical abilities and communication skills.
