About the position

The Chemical Process Engineer at Chemours will play a crucial role in supporting TiO2 manufacturing operations at the DeLisle Plant. This position focuses on maintaining production performance, restoring process capability, and implementing improvements in collaboration with various teams. The engineer will be responsible for technical support, project design compliance, process optimization, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support in the day-to-day operation of the plant, including process monitoring and optimization.
  • Analyze data and troubleshoot process and equipment issues impacting product quality.
  • Design and supervise plant tests to optimize processes and implement new products.
  • Provide expertise on unit operations such as reactors, heat and mass transfer, and gas-solids separation.
  • Develop and implement improvements to enhance safety, quality, cost, and environmental impact.
  • Guide Operations on safe operating limits and ensure process safety information is accurate.
  • Lead Process Hazard Analysis reviews and evaluate changes for compliance with Management of Change requirements.
  • Provide internal technical product support for different product offerings.
  • Lead site improvements from opportunity definition to implementation.
  • Update and approve process technology documents to meet standards.
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis for product quality issues.
  • Analyze equipment and process trends to recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose and solve problems.
  • Capability to lead and work in diverse cross-functional teams with high initiative and self-motivation.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced working environment with complex projects.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computational and statistical data analysis skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing setting (including co-op/internship experience).
  • Working knowledge of data analytics and statistics using tools like 6-Sigma, Design of Experiments, Minitab, Power BI, MS Excel.
  • Experience with statistical process control for quality management.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis and process engineering modeling tools (Aspen, Fathom, etc.).
