About the position

The Process Engineer will oversee the transition of new processes from the Research and Development department to full-scale production at the Tremco Corsicana plant. This role involves managing a significant plant expansion project, including the design and commissioning of a new reactor, while also optimizing existing processes to enhance productivity and safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage and commercialize new processes developed by the R&D department into full-scale production.
• Determine suitable equipment for new product manufacturing and necessary modifications for production.
• Lead the expansion project through commissioning and scale-up phases.
• Participate in process safety reviews and hazards analysis as a technical representative.
• Perform safety vent calculations for process upset conditions.
• Propose process modifications to reduce waste and improve efficiency as part of a LEAN culture.
• Provide process knowledge to troubleshoot quality issues in collaboration with the quality control department.
• Coordinate training of operators on quality-critical product specifications and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Identify causes of productivity issues and lead efforts to improve productivity levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in Project Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
• Knowledge of SAP and basic understanding of Process Control Systems.
• Ability to read and interpret scientific and technical documents, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Strong communication skills for presenting information to management and public groups.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations and define problems using data analysis.
