About the position

Olin Winchester, LLC, a leading ammunition manufacturer, is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join their team at the US Army's premier small caliber manufacturing facility in Independence, MO. This role is pivotal in the collaboration between the US Army and Winchester to develop a groundbreaking tracer cartridge aimed at enhancing the capabilities of America's warfighters in both current and future global conflicts. The Chemical Process Engineer will be integral to the engineering and development teams, working within state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities to devise real-world solutions for tracer cartridges that align with the US Army's newly developed weapons platforms. Additionally, the role involves developing comprehensive specifications for vendors throughout the quotation process, equipment design phase, and manufacturing build of new pyrotechnic-related equipment. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Chemical Process Engineer will work closely with cross-functional production teams, customers, suppliers, contractors, engineers, and designers to identify, rank, and advance the creation of tracer ammunition technology. The engineer will also support the transition from initial R&D lab experiments to achieving full-rate manufacturing capabilities, ensuring that all processes are efficient and effective in meeting the needs of the U.S. Army.
