About the position

The Chemical Service Technician role at ChampionX involves providing essential service support to customers in the oilfield sector. This position focuses on chemical delivery, inventory management, and technical support, ensuring a safe work environment while promoting a culture of safety. Responsibilities

  • Provides basic service support to customers including sample testing, light maintenance, customer service, service report generation, chemical ordering, chemical inventory management, and general labor activities.
  • Delivers chemical to customers as needed following DOT requirements.
  • Conducts regular inventory and records per the customer requirements.
  • Maintains accurate service reports, monitors the performance of equipment and chemical program through sampling and testing; informs sales reps and account managers of any issues immediately after they arise.
  • Provides routine service support to sales reps in strategic district accounts to execute agreed upon customer system assurance and continuous improvement plans.
  • Assists sales reps with start-up of new applications with both existing customers and in new accounts, site surveys, product application audits and field evaluation of new products.
  • Ensures a safe work environment, promotes a safety culture, and actively works to achieve Goal ZERO.
  • Promptly reports every incident, near miss, or injury to leader as soon as possible.
  • Provides technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer pain points, escalating as required.
  • Executes required chemistry tests, logs, and reports data, and maintains product inventories at assigned customer accounts.
  • Installs, calibrates, and maintains chemical feed equipment and process monitoring equipment at assigned customer accounts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older to operate a company vehicle.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's Degree or Trade School Certification.
  • 2 years of successful technical service or field sales support experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Prior experience troubleshooting chemical injection pumps or tanks.
  • Practical computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal business systems).
  • History of working in a field that required autonomy and self-motivation.
  • Prior experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task.
