About the position

The Chemical Support Engineer at Solenis will serve as the primary support for the district, ensuring that treatment chemicals and equipment are utilized effectively, economically, and safely at customer accounts. This role involves collaborating with sales account managers to design and implement treatment programs, conducting routine service visits, and addressing technical issues at customer sites. The position emphasizes professional development and offers opportunities for growth within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine service visits and testing to ensure safe and effective treatment programs within the pulp and paper industry.
  • Update databases with each service visit and generate weekly service reports as required.
  • Assist with technical issues at customer sites, bringing any issues to the customer's attention and developing a corrective action plan while keeping the sales account manager informed.
  • Identify growth opportunities at existing customers and assist with growth opportunities at prospect accounts as required.
  • Assist with data analysis on program performance.
  • Perform routine monitoring and maintenance of feed equipment as required.
  • Participate in technical training opportunities for advancement of skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to solve complex and non-routine technical problems.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Industry and customer literate, or ability to quickly learn about industry and Solenis technologies.
  • Proactive approach to addressing complex issues.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must reside within 45 minutes of customer locations in the Longview/Tacoma, WA area.
