About the position

The Chemical Technician at Vital Energy, Inc. is responsible for coordinating and managing the production chemical treating program within a designated geographic region. This role involves monitoring and optimizing production chemicals, collaborating with the operations team, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The technician will also train personnel, manage chemical handling, and work closely with engineers and foremen to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Vital Energy and third-party systems to monitor, trend, and analyze data for chemical treatments.
  • Work directly with Engineers and Foremen to ensure efficient well treatment.
  • Implement cost-effective preventive maintenance programs for relevant equipment.
  • Witness H2S scavenger or media change out for towers.
  • Ensure safe handling and transport of chemicals by employees and third parties.
  • Train company personnel in applications, safety, and troubleshooting.
  • Review invoices for discrepancies and resolve issues with Foremen and vendors.
  • Coordinate fluid sampling and validate accuracy and scheduling frequency.
  • Provide input at well reviews and failure meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with Company, Local, State, and Federal policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field may count towards experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of oilfield experience; chemical experience is a plus.
  • Eligibility to drive a company vehicle.
  • Dependable and able to work overtime when necessary.
  • Working knowledge of chemical injection pumps.
  • Basic understanding of solar powered electrical systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of surface and downhole production equipment.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • General knowledge of safe oil and gas production operations.
  • Working knowledge of engineering principles and measurement systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform simple math calculations and possess writing skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automation of repetitive tasks.
  • Familiarity with data analysis from multiple sources.
