About the position

The Chemist 2: Analytical Chemist position at Oregon State University involves performing standard and advanced analytical procedures in a laboratory environment. Responsibilities

• Perform standardized and advanced analytical procedures for environmental samples.
• Assist in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
• Communicate with customers about sample processing and scheduling.
• Plan and prioritize laboratory logistics and sample processing schedules.
• Oversee the training and development of lab technicians and student employees.
• Develop and maintain quality assurance for analytical procedures.
• Report and track analytical results and quality control data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or equivalent experience.
• One year of experience independently performing analytical chemistry procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to work productively in teams and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Five years of experience in a trace level water analysis lab.
• Experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles.
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices.
