About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Chemist to join our team at Actalent. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, with a preference for those who have prior laboratory experience. This role requires excellent wet chemistry skills, knowledge of various analytical instruments, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operation and routine maintenance of analytical equipment
• Upkeep of analytical methods and procedures
• Work efficiently and effectively on major project teams
• Preparation of quality customer reports and project portfolio management
• Customer interfacing, including correspondence and presentations
• Compliance with and understanding of corporate standards, including safety, housekeeping, and quality
• Upkeep of digital programs such as Microsoft, LIMS, and statistical analysis

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in chemistry
• Prior laboratory experience preferred
• Good wet chemistry skills, including titration, filtration, dilution, extraction, and gravimetric determinations
• Knowledge and experience with GC-FID, ICP, IC, SEM/EDS, and FTIR is desirable
• Prior use of pH and specific ion electrode meters
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong chemical math skills
• Strong PC skills
• Solid interpersonal skills

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in an analytical laboratory is highly desirable
• Experience with quality control and quality assurance
• Knowledge of laboratory digital programs and statistical analysis
