The Chemistry / Chemical Engineering Co-Op position at Axalta Coating Systems is designed for driven and innovative college students looking to gain hands-on experience in the coatings technology industry. This role is part of the Fast Track Early Talent Program, where co-op students will work on impactful projects alongside industry experts, focusing on product development, manufacturing processes, and customer solutions. Responsibilities

• Work directly with Axalta Scientists on a well-defined project to develop new products, improve manufacturing processes, or solve customer issues.
• Perform work focused on polymer synthesis, paint formulations, advanced analytical chemistry instrumentation, or computational modeling.
• Interact frequently with global internal manufacturing and marketing groups, as well as external automotive customers.
• Prepare and present a report summarizing project work at the end of the co-op experience.

Requirements

• Candidates must be working toward an undergraduate or master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.2 is required.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Demonstrated ability to learn on the job is essential.
• Effective problem solver with strong analytical skills is required.
• Results-oriented and a self-starter.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
