Talen Energy is soliciting candidates interested in filling the position of Chemistry Foreman at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station located near Berwick, Pennsylvania. Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, one of the largest dual-unit, Boiling Water Reactor sites in the U.S., delivers approximately 2700 MW of electricity to the grid in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Responsibilities

  • Review Chemistry surveillances.
  • Direct, supervise and schedule work being performed in the lab and plant by Chemistry personnel (technicians).
  • Review and develop resolutions for audit findings and condition reports.
  • Perform task evaluations for technician certification and other training issues.
  • Responsible for the overall conduct of in plant sampling and analysis, programs to assure that a qualified staff is performing the analyses, and review of Chemistry data.
  • Recommend improvements to training programs for technicians.
  • Perform observations of and coach chemistry technicians.
  • Maintain necessary qualifications and expertise to be able to respond and lead in plant response to upset conditions within the Nuclear Emergency Response Organization.
  • Administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Practical knowledge of a nuclear power plant and chemistry radio chemistry.
  • Four years experience at a nuclear power plant.
  • Five years experience in chemistry of which one year shall be in radiochemistry at an operating nuclear power plant.
  • Two years of this five years experience shall be related technical training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years experience as a Senior Technician.
  • Associates or B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
