About the position

The position is an internship within MITRE Lab's Energy, Environmental, Material and Chemical Sciences Department, focusing on battery testing and data analysis. The role involves assisting in experimental setups, conducting data analysis, and preparing reports on battery performance, providing a unique opportunity for high school students to gain hands-on experience in a professional research environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up experiments for battery testing, including configuring test cells and designing experimental plans.
• Carry out data collection during battery testing experiments.
• Conduct data analysis on battery cycling results to evaluate performance using standard analysis techniques and programming tools.
• Support the preparation of reports on the performance of various batteries by contributing to the presentation of findings.

Requirements

• Must be a high school student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program with a focus in Chemistry, Physics, or a related program.
• Laboratory skills in chemistry and/or a related science.
• Programming proficiencies in Python or Matlab.
• Sustained excellence in academic performance.
