About the position

The Chief Accountant at Hyatt Regency Boston is responsible for overseeing all accounting processes at the hotel. This includes managing monthly transactions, preparing invoices and statements, and reconciling accounts. The role emphasizes communication with customers regarding collections and involves assisting with special projects. The position offers a blend of in-office and remote work, reflecting Hyatt's commitment to flexibility and employee well-being.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting processes at the hotel.
• Post monthly transactions and prepare monthly invoices and statements.
• Post cash receipts and wire transfers.
• Reconcile A/R trial balance to General Ledger as needed.
• Communicate with customers regarding collection issues.
• Assist with various special projects as assigned.
• Manage the hotel's cash bank.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Refined verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, and financial accounting systems (Opera preferred).
• Self-starter with excellent integrity.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the hospitality industry.
• Familiarity with Opera financial accounting system.
