The Chief Administrative and Business Officer (CABO) at New York University (NYU) serves as a strategic administrative partner to the leadership of the Rory Meyers College of Nursing. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the college's faculty, students, fellows, and staff receive high-quality administrative support while adhering to university policies and procedures. The CABO is responsible for financial stewardship and the leadership of administrative support services, reporting directly to the Dean of the college and sharing accountability with the Chief Financial Officer of the university regarding financial and budgetary matters as well as risk management. In this capacity, the CABO will lead school-wide strategic initiatives that align with the mission of both the college and the university. This includes overseeing general and administrative operations such as facilities management, information technology, human resources, and continuous process improvement. The CABO will also manage financial and budgetary responsibilities, ensuring compliance with regulations and effective risk management practices. The role encompasses research administration and requires a strong understanding of the university's operational landscape. The CABO will work closely with the Dean and other school leaders to conceptualize, prioritize, and plan new programs or changes that support academic priorities. This involves developing and implementing strategies that address both financial and non-financial resources necessary for achieving the college's goals. The CABO will represent the Dean in decision-making processes with the university's central administrative offices and will be responsible for building and managing a high-performance team of administrative and financial professionals. Additionally, the CABO will act as a university citizen, connecting the college with the broader university community through effective communication and alignment of priorities. This role requires a proactive approach to sharing knowledge and best practices across the organization, ensuring that the college's needs and challenges are effectively represented at the university level.
