About the position

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at The Preuss School, UC San Diego, is responsible for overseeing all administrative activities that support the school's mission and instructional goals. This role involves managing financial operations, personnel programs, grant management, and facilities management, while also serving as a liaison between various stakeholders including the San Diego Unified School District and the university. The CAO plays a critical role in financial negotiations and is tasked with hiring and supervising non-academic staff, ensuring effective systems are in place for the school's operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide internal and external coordination and management of administrative activities.
• Oversee financial/budgetary controls and internal controls.
• Manage personnel programs and grant/contract management.
• Lead financial negotiations with the San Diego Unified School District.
• Act as an advisor to the Principal and liaise with faculty, staff, and community.
• Oversee hiring, supervising, and training of non-academic staff.
• Assist with the recruitment of academic staff.

Requirements
