About the position

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is a pivotal leadership role at WellLife Network (WLN), tasked with providing strategic direction and management oversight across various administrative functions. This position is essential for ensuring organizational efficiency and contributing to the overall growth and success of the company. The CAO will work closely with departmental heads in Human Resources, Quality Assurance, Public Affairs, and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee to align their efforts with the company's strategic objectives. In this role, the CAO will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that resonate with WLN's mission, vision, values, and goals. This includes collaborating with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to create and manage budgets for relevant departments, ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently to meet both departmental and organizational objectives. The CAO will also regularly report to the executive leadership team and the Board of Directors on the performance and progress of the relevant departments, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements. The CAO will provide executive leadership and vision for the Human Resources function, fostering a positive company culture that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion in all HR practices. This includes developing competitive recruitment, retention, compensation, and benefit strategies, as well as establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that support WLN's strategic goals. In the Quality Assurance domain, the CAO will establish and maintain quality assurance standards and procedures, oversee Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives, and lead efforts to achieve and maintain industry certifications and accreditations. Additionally, the CAO will manage public affairs and DEI initiatives, developing strategies for media relations and external engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership, vision and guidance to Human Resources, Quality Assurance, Public Affairs and DEI Departments/Committees.
  • Develop and implement strategies that align with WLN's overall mission, vision, values and goals.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to create and manage budgets for relevant departments.
  • Ensure financial resources are allocated efficiently to meet departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Regularly report to executive leadership team and Board of Directors on performance and progress of the relevant departments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Foster a positive company culture, promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in all HR practices.
  • Ensure the development of competitive and successful recruitment, retention, compensation and benefit strategies.
  • Identify trends that could affect organizational objectives and/or operational resources related to HR functions and provide guidance for strategies to address them.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that support the achievement of WLN's strategic goals.
  • Lead the development and implementation of HR department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance standards and procedures across the organization in collaboration with VP of QA Department.
  • Oversee Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives and processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead efforts to achieve and maintain industry certifications and accreditations.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to risk analysis and mitigation strategies for WLN.
  • Oversee Corporate Compliance & Quality Committee presentations and materials.
  • Create strategic vision related to organizational training enhancements to ensure excellence in care of individuals served and advancement of workforce.
  • Develop and execute public affairs and communications strategies in collaboration with VP of PA Department.
  • Manage media relations, public relations, and crisis communication efforts.
  • Represent the company in external engagement and collaborations.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to development and implementation of DEI initiatives.
  • Establish appropriate KPIs for DEI goals.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in related field of study.
  • Proven executive leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multi-faceted functions.
  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices and relevant regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and team leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to translate vision into action.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to quality through management of and collaboration with the senior management team; management of multiple priorities, strong organizational skills; and sound decision-making and problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of negotiation and administration of contracts and legal aspects of a corporation.
  • Strong work ethic and unquestionable reputation of honesty and integrity.
  • Experience with non-profit social service and/or health care agency.
