About the position

The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is seeking an experienced Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to lead the municipality through a significant growth phase. This role requires a highly visible and engaged leader who will work closely with the community and Township staff to provide strategic direction and operational oversight of municipal services. The CAO will report directly to the Council and will be responsible for delivering the Township's vision while ensuring compliance with legislation and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Township's administration and operations.
  • Plan, organize, and direct municipal services in accordance with applicable legislation and policies established by Council.
  • Advise and support Council in addressing current and emerging issues and trends.
  • Engage with the community and Township staff to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Implement organizational changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a leadership role, with 3 to 5 years in a senior leadership position within the municipal sector.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Experience in human resource management and change management.
