About the position

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at Kentucky Educational Television (KET) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the agency's administrative functions, including human resources, finances, policy, operations, and services. The CAO will support the Executive Director & CEO in ensuring the efficient and strategic use of resources to fulfill KET's mission of educating and inspiring the community. This position requires strong leadership, decision-making skills, and the ability to manage complex situations while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist the Executive Director & CEO with administrative oversight of human resources, finances, policy, operations, and services.
  • Ensure efficient and strategic use of personnel and financial resources to support KET's mission.
  • Oversee financial affairs for three separate organizations, including budget development, administration, audit, and reporting.
  • Manage overall human resources, including organizational development, succession planning, recruitment, training, and policy implementation.
  • Foster staff professional development and a productive work environment.
  • Manage agency legal and contractual matters.
  • Monitor and develop agency policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory entities such as FCC and PBS.
  • Serve as executive liaison to governing and fundraising boards.
  • Represent the Executive Director & CEO as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least ten years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in executive management, strategic planning, operations, governmental policy and procedures, legal affairs, finance, and human resources at the highest level of an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work as a team member, effectively communicating with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong writing, communication, and professional interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
