About the position

The Chief Analyst for Research Operations at Texas Tech University plays a crucial role in supporting the strategic initiatives of the Research Division. This position involves financial management tasks such as reconciliation, reporting, and forecasting related to the operational budget, seed funding, and endowment spending. The Chief Analyst collaborates with various departments to plan and budget events and training workshops, ensuring effective resource management and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President for Research and Innovation and the Assistant Vice President, Finance and Administration to support strategic initiatives.
  • Manage financial tasks including reconciliation, reporting, and forecasting for operational budgets, seed funding, and endowment spending.
  • Oversee planning and budgeting for events, business functions, conferences, and training/workshops.
  • Coordinate with research departments for all Office of Research and Innovation events.
  • Handle approvals or submissions for procurement and travel using Techbuy and Chrome River.
  • Facilitate oversight of space allocation and act as the property management custodian.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for research systems management, memberships, subscriptions, and resources.
  • Assist Human Resources with departmental responsibilities for recruitment and onboarding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Five years of progressively responsible related experience in a relevant field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Higher Education Administration.
  • Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Fund Balance Accounting and State Accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with Banner and Cognos for reconciling department records.
  • Familiarity with TechBuy, Direct Pay, Travel, etc.

Benefits

  • Compensation commensurate with qualifications and budgetary guidelines.
  • Full-time position with a monthly pay range of $4,185.67 - $10,464.17.
