About the position

The Chief Clinical Officer/Chief Operating Officer is responsible for managing and directing the overall operations of a hospital. This role involves providing leadership to ensure the attainment of strategic objectives and the delivery of quality healthcare services. The CCO/COO initiates and enforces organization-wide policies and procedures to support the hospital's objectives and programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of hospital operations.
  • Implement policies established by the Governing Body of the hospital.
  • Direct strategic planning for the hospital in collaboration with the Market CEO.
  • Develop, interpret, and communicate hospital policies and operational procedures to department managers.
  • Assess patient population, risk factors, and scope of services.
  • Develop and monitor the hospital budget, ensuring operations do not exceed the approved budget.
  • Oversee finance/business office functions to ensure appropriate fund management.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing plans for hospital departments.
  • Respond to community needs for quality healthcare services by monitoring medical activities.
  • Serve as a member of the hospital executive committee and other designated administrative committees.
  • Attend governing board meetings and conduct responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Conduct and applicable laws.
  • Oversee hospital leadership to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Foster high employee morale and a positive work environment.
  • Maintain physical facilities in a safe and operational state.
  • Monitor employee performance and compliance with the Company's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Agreement.
  • Act as Privacy Officer for the hospital, implementing necessary privacy policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, finance, or clinical specialty.
  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or clinical specialty preferred.
  • Five years' experience in healthcare administration/management, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Two years' prior COO or CEO level experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission, local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of general budgeting, accounting, and management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $135,000 - $205,000.
