About the position

The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of RBC Bank GA will lead the compliance team, ensuring adherence to the compliance program and managing risk within the Board-approved appetite. This role involves collaboration with the RBC-US Chief Compliance Officer and focuses on compliance related to core banking products, particularly in deposit and lending activities. The CCO will oversee compliance professionals, manage regulatory issues, and drive improvements in compliance efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the compliance program to fulfill Compliance's mission as an independent oversight function and trusted advisor.
  • Manage the compliance team to ensure RBC Bank, GA meets compliance obligations and manages compliance risk.
  • Implement and execute the compliance framework, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Hire, manage, and lead compliance professionals overseeing key banking businesses and services.
  • Lead efforts related to issues management for regulatory compliance, ensuring timely closure of issues.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in compliance efficiency and effectiveness, driving transformation projects.
  • Interface with regulators and coordinate compliance examinations.

Requirements

  • Substantial knowledge of compliance processes, including monitoring, risk assessments, and regulatory change.
  • Strong leadership skills and executive presence to guide organizational change and collaborate with partners.
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory risk management, internal controls, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent judgment, ethical standards, and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in communicating and interacting with regulatory agencies, including exam management.
