About the position

The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) for RBC Bank GA will lead the compliance team, ensuring adherence to the compliance framework, policies, and standards of the parent company. This role involves managing compliance risks, overseeing compliance professionals, and ensuring effective execution of compliance programs related to core banking products, particularly in deposit and lending activities. The CCO will also interface with regulatory agencies and drive transformation efforts within the compliance function.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the RBC Bank GA Compliance team and partner with the RBC-US Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Implement an effective compliance program that adheres to the framework, policies, and standards of the parent company.
  • Manage compliance obligations and risks within Board-approved appetite.
  • Hire, manage, and lead compliance professionals overseeing key banking businesses and services.
  • Drive projects to implement transformation efforts and improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Interface with the Comptroller of the Currency and coordinate compliance examinations.
  • Effectively manage issues related to regulatory compliance and escalate when necessary.

Requirements

  • Substantial knowledge of compliance processes, including monitoring, risk assessments, and regulatory change.
  • Strong leadership skills and executive presence to guide organizational change.
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory risk management, internal controls, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and interact constructively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience communicating and interacting with regulatory agencies, including exam management.
