The NYC Department for the Aging is dedicated to eliminating ageism and ensuring the dignity and quality of life for approximately 1.8 million older New Yorkers. The agency is committed to helping older adults age in their homes and creating a community-care approach that reflects a model age-inclusive city. Within this framework, the Division of Operations & Administration plays a crucial role in maintaining efficiency and effectiveness throughout the agency, ensuring that all programs have the necessary resources, tools, and support to succeed. The Bureau of Financial Services (BFS) is tasked with administering the agency's operating and capital budget, overseeing various functions including Budget, Payment Services, Claiming, Revenue Accounting, and Audit Functions. BFS ensures that funds are available for the procurement of goods and services, that invoices are paid promptly, and that all expenditures align with allowable services, maintaining reasonable and auditable costs that reflect the agency's mission. Additionally, BFS reviews audited financial statements from providers and investigates areas of concern. NYC Aging is seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager to serve as the Chief Compliance Officer. This position requires broad-based experience in compliance, internal and external audit, financial reporting, and programmatic fiscal processes. The selected candidate will employ an independent, structured, and disciplined approach to adhere to reporting requirements, which include Criteria, Condition, Cause, Consequence, and Correction. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and with additional accountability to the First Deputy Commissioner on investigative matters related to fiscal oversight or agency-wide significance, the Chief Compliance Officer will have a range of duties and responsibilities. These include serving as the lead intermediary between NYC Aging and overseeing bodies, coordinating responses to audits, monitoring and mitigating risks, conducting internal audits, creating and revising organizational policies, researching compliance software, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical guidelines, and providing training and resources to staff regarding compliance matters.
