About the position

The Chief Compliance Officer at Ripple will lead the company's global compliance efforts, focusing on BSA/AML/OFAC/Sanctions, regulatory licensing, general compliance, and privacy. This role is crucial in ensuring that Ripple adheres to applicable regulations and best practices while managing the compliance team and supporting the development of compliance programs across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the BSA/AML/OFAC/Sanctions program to ensure compliance with applicable regulations globally.
  • Serve as Ripple's Global Head of Sanctions and the Bank Secrecy Act Officer for Ripple Markets DE LLC.
  • Execute Ripple's licensing strategy, including obtaining and maintaining crypto registrations and money transmission licenses.
  • Ensure compliance with general regulations regarding Business Continuity, Third-Party Risk Management, and Customer Complaints.
  • Support the development of Ripple's Privacy program in accordance with regulatory regimes like GDPR.
  • Manage the Compliance team and implement resource plans for effective execution of the Compliance program.
  • Evaluate new products and services for Compliance risk and implement controls prior to launch.
  • Review changes to compliance and sanctions laws in consultation with regulatory advisors and legal counsel.
  • Provide advisory support to Product and Business teams regarding regulatory requirements and risks.
  • Ensure timely Compliance reporting of key risk and performance indicators to senior management and Boards.
  • Provide quarterly reporting to internal oversight committees and Board of Directors.
  • Update and ensure adherence to Ripple's compliance training program.
  • Oversee annual independent and internal program testing.
  • Manage ad-hoc Ripple projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of BSA/AML/OFAC and General Compliance experience at regulated entities.
  • 5+ years of people management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance regulations and requirements.
  • Proven ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects.
  • Comfortable providing feedback, mentoring, and training to Compliance team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present to Senior Management.
  • Payments / MSB / fintech experience necessary.
  • Must be CAMS-certified.
