About the position

The Chief Credit Officer will lead the credit department operations for a bank in Sidney, OH, ensuring the quality of the bank's lending portfolio. This role involves overseeing credit analysis, managing loan growth, and participating in key leadership committees. The position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the credit team and support loan products, policies, and procedures to ensure the quality of the Bank's lending portfolio.
  • Ensure high-quality credit analysis on individual loans and conduct portfolio stress testing.
  • Calculate monthly allocations to the Loan Loss Reserve (ALLL/CECL).
  • Serve as a key member of the bank's leadership team and participate in various committees, including the Officer's Loan Committee and Pricing Committee.
  • Assist in meeting annual loan growth goals assigned by senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate external loan audits, including regulatory examinations.
  • Review large and complex loans prior to submission to the Officer's Loan Committee, making recommendations on loan structure, terms, and pricing.
  • Organize and distribute credit information covering loan quality trends, growth indicators, and loan product concentrations.
  • Manage stress testing of the loan portfolio using the Bank's primary loan origination system software.
  • Ensure individual loans are risk-rated correctly for Officer's Loan Committee approval.
  • Supervise the Bank's special assets area in curing weak credits and collection efforts.
  • Prepare reports on the status of the Bank's special assets for the Board of Directors.
  • Present loan information to the Board of Directors, including ALLL/CECL calculations and graded loan reports.
  • Maintain relationships with the SBA and support requests with guaranteed loan programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent from a 4-year college or university.
  • Ten or more years of related work experience in financial/credit analysis and lending.
  • Heavy experience with C&I lending is required.
  • Loan workout and SBA experience preferred.
  • Completion of formal bank management executive school or financial industry-related degree program preferred.
  • Ability to create and analyze credit presentations, business correspondence, loan policies, and loan procedures.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
