About the position

The Chief Customer Architect is a leadership role within the Customer Systems and Solutions (CSS) portfolio, responsible for overseeing the solution architecture practice and developing the Customer Technology Roadmap. This position requires a strategic thinker who can mentor other architects, foster innovation, and ensure alignment with the organization's objectives. The Chief Architect will work closely with various stakeholders to drive technology initiatives and maintain compliance while simplifying and modernizing the customer technology portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the architecture and high-level design of Customer Transformation projects within Billing Modernization and Customer Contact Service Platform.
  • Develop strong business relationships and create multi-year application plans aligned with business goals.
  • Drive the multi-year Customer Technology Roadmap and communicate program status to company executives.
  • Work with IT leadership to develop a shared technology vision and sustain a culture of creativity.
  • Create a governance process for prioritizing and allocating resources for projects and programs.
  • Lead customer technology investment planning, priority setting, and risk management of major projects.
  • Ensure all programs are regulatory compliant and manage expectations regarding development work in progress.
  • Monitor new technologies for potential implementation to improve application development processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum B.A/B.S. in computer science, information systems, business administration or equivalent experience.
  • 12 years of experience managing IT architecture and operations in a complex organization.
  • Experience leading IT architecture practices and orchestrating technology transformations.
  • Experience in leading large cross-functional teams, especially in Customer Information Systems and Customer Billing.
  • Familiarity with Oracle CC&B or C2M, Salesforce, AWS, Cloud frameworks, and AI.

Nice-to-haves

  • M.A./M.S. in computer science, information systems, business administration or equivalent field/work experience.
  • At least 5 years of utility experience in leading architecture teams.
