About the position

The Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) at St. John's Episcopal Hospital is a pivotal leadership role responsible for managing the technology infrastructure and systems that support the hospital's clinical, financial, and administrative operations. The CDIO will oversee the strategic direction, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This position is crucial for driving operational stability, optimizing supplier partnerships, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making while spearheading technological innovations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technology infrastructure and systems supporting clinical, financial, and administrative operations.
• Oversee the strategic direction, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems.
• Ensure IT systems align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Provide executive sponsorship for EMR upgrades and ensure effective optimization of the EMR.
• Cultivate relationships and collaborative work with leadership to support urgent needs.
• Drive IT strategy and innovation within the healthcare setting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Extensive experience (8+ years) in healthcare IT leadership roles.
• Proven track record of success in driving IT strategy and innovation.
• Prior CIO experience is required.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, NIST, HITECH, and CMS regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget management.
