About the position

The Chief Engineer for Cyber/NOC/Cloud at Leidos will lead the development of innovative solutions to complex problems in the cyber domain, focusing on large-scale cyber systems and multi-cloud environments. This role involves direct interaction with customers and technical teams to ensure effective program execution and support business development initiatives. The Chief Engineer will also mentor technical staff and contribute to the overall success of the program by providing subject matter expertise and driving thought leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop highly innovative solutions to resolve complex problems involving limited and disparate information.
  • Serve as a technical SME driving technical execution across the program.
  • Directly interface with customers, PM, and technical teams to understand requirements and develop solutions.
  • Support as a thought leader and SME for the program and new business pursuits.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across the Cyber domain in diverse technical architectures.
  • Advise and support engineering requirements of large-scale cyber systems.
  • Drive thought leadership through inclusion, collaboration, and mentorship of technical talent.
  • Provide technical contributions to program efforts in cost management, schedule estimation, and quality assurance activities.
  • Support business development and capture teams to identify and pursue opportunities.
  • Provide support for various government engagements and executive level briefings.
  • Ensure quality products and services are delivered, contributing to governing bodies.
  • Visit various sites in the DMV area to meet with customers and technical teams.
  • Mentor and coach technical staff.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to obtain Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology or related technical area.
  • 15+ years of total experience in relevant fields.
  • CISSP or other DoD 8570 IAT III certification required.
  • Demonstrated background in Cyber automation and related technologies.
  • Experience with Network Operation Center and Defensive Cyber Operations.
  • Expertise in NOC Operations, System Architecture, Cloud Architecture, and Cyber Security Incident Handling.
  • Proven track record of critical thinking and developing creative problem solutions.
  • Experience with large programs and technology assessments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Cloud certification.
  • DoD 8570 Cyber Security Service Provider certification such as CEH.
  • DoD 8570 IASAE III certification: ISSAP, ISSEP, or CCSP.
