About the position

The Chief Engineer for AECOM's Remediation Practice in the East Region will lead the technical delivery of complex environmental remediation projects. This role focuses on collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, maximizing enterprise-wide resources, and developing engineering talent. The Chief Engineer will ensure high-quality engineering solutions that address future risks while embedding sustainability principles into every project.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the technical delivery of integrated remediation solutions, ensuring high-quality designs and documentation.
• Provide expert guidance on complex environmental remediation challenges, addressing current issues and anticipating future risks.
• Drive a strong focus on sustainability in engineering designs to align with AECOM's sustainability goals.
• Identify engineering needs within the organization and work with hiring managers to enhance design team skills.
• Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to harness enterprise-wide capabilities.
• Leverage global resources and technology platforms to deliver innovative project solutions.
• Promote internal coordination for efficient project delivery and optimal outcomes.
• Lead the development and mentorship of engineering teams, encouraging professional growth.
• Build regional and global teams aligned with evolving business needs and project demands.
• Identify training opportunities to elevate technical skills of team members.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards specific to the remediation practice.
• Develop engineering strategies to proactively identify and mitigate future risks.
• Continuously improve engineering processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Champion the integration of sustainability in engineering design and remediation techniques.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure deliverables meet expectations.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field + 12 years of related experience or equivalent education, including 4 years of leadership.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensed.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 13+ years of experience in environmental remediation or engineering projects with proven leadership.
• Strong record of facilitating team collaboration and utilizing global resources.
• Experience in mentoring and developing engineering talent with a focus on sustainability.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Experience developing engineering standards and technical specifications in environmental remediation.
• Strong understanding of sustainability practices in engineering and environmental design.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
