The Electronic Attack Solutions (EAS) Chief Engineer will serve as the primary engineering leader for a family of products within BAE Systems, focusing on program execution, new business growth, product leverage, product evolution, and continuous improvement. This role is critical in providing next-generation threat detection and countermeasure solutions that enhance mission survivability in the realm of electronic warfare. The Chief Engineer will work closely with the Product Line Director and staff to develop and deliver products and systems that meet customer needs, ensuring that all engineering efforts align with the company's mission of protecting those who protect us. In this position, the Chief Engineer will be responsible for meeting cost, schedule, and technical performance for Product Line projects throughout their lifecycle. This includes preparing and approving competitive engineering bids that are executable and meet established price-to-win targets. The Chief Engineer will also serve as the overall engineering point of contact for both internal and external customers, collaborating across all disciplines, functions, and business areas to effectively support engineering across the enterprise. The role requires the development and communication of Product and Technology Roadmaps that sustain and grow the business, as well as the identification and support of critical skills and resources necessary for success. Continuous improvement activities will be a key focus, ensuring that processes are properly applied based on the size and complexity of projects. The Chief Engineer will establish goals, performance standards, budgets, and staffing plans, while also improving processes and skills that support programs. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will work across organizational boundaries to solve problems and secure resources, and will be responsible for recruiting, training, developing, and retaining Program Engineering Managers (PEMs) to meet business needs.
