About the position
Under Direction of the Department Public Works (DPW) Chief of Plant Operations II, the Chief Engineer II supervises staff in the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repair of the heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning systems, auxiliary electrical plants and other mechanical and power equipment of state use buildings.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff in the operations, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.
- Oversee auxiliary electrical plants and other mechanical and power equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
Requirements
- Possession of Minimum Qualifications as verified prior to interview.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and LiveScan fingerprinting.
- Experience with heating, plumbing, water, refrigeration, sewage, and other mechanical systems.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience writing scopes of work (SOW's).
- Experience with maintenance of underground utilities.
