About the position

The Engineering Manager at Memphis Marriott is responsible for ensuring the hotel operates smoothly and meets all operational standards related to the Engineering Department. This role involves overseeing maintenance, implementing safety policies, and managing a team to provide an excellent experience for guests.

Responsibilities

• Conduct walk-throughs and assessments of maintenance and operation of the hotel structure, systems, and equipment.
• Manage the Rooms and Public Area Preventive Maintenance Program and keep updated records.
• Collaborate with the hotel management team and the property General Manager.
• Hire, train, supervise, coach, and counsel associates, including managers.
• Ensure the grounds are maintained for a great arrival experience.
• Implement the hotel's safety and emergency policies and procedures, including the removal of safety hazards.

Requirements

• Previous hotel engineering experience required, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen, and general building construction.
• Vocational training, associate's degree, certification, and/or apprenticeship in one or more areas; state certification or licensure where required.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, and blueprints; understand test equipment and measuring devices.
• Strong business communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Team-oriented individual who enjoys providing great experiences for guests.
