About the position

The Chief Engineering Lead (CSE) will support the U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) in Doral, Florida, focusing on the management and operation of a geographically dispersed Windows Enterprise network. This role requires strong engineering expertise in various technologies and the ability to communicate effectively with both clients and team members. The CSE will oversee system performance, provide technical leadership, and ensure the efficient operation of Department of Defense networks.

Responsibilities

  • Support systems and applications on a geographically dispersed Windows Enterprise network.
  • Ensure effective operation and interconnectivity of a Department of Defense Network.
  • Execute actions to correct deficiencies and improve system performance.
  • Manage Windows system administrator functions supporting a global Active Directory infrastructure.
  • Provide senior level knowledge and Tier 3 support to customers and joint task forces.
  • Document system processes and architectures.
  • Provide technical leadership and cross-training to peers.
  • Act as a resource to team members and participate in professional meetings.
  • Coach and provide input on the needs of Infrastructure staff.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field and 7 years recent specialized experience in a medium to large network architecture (Bachelor's degree can be substituted with two additional years of experience).
  • Current TS/SCI clearance.
  • DoD 8570 certification (minimum Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level III).
  • A minimum of one Microsoft Computing Environment certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six years of experience managing complex programs in a combatant command or similar network ecosystem.
  • Six years of performance as a Senior IT engineer.
  • Ten years managing the development and implementation of new technology, including design, integration, and migration of network infrastructure.
  • Ten years of experience leading teams of network, system, and architecture engineers.
  • Ten years working with DoD IA policy and guidelines.
