About the position

The Chief Finance and Administrative Officer (CFAO) at Chatham University will be responsible for developing and implementing the financial strategy of the institution. This role involves leading strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing revenue, implementing a new finance system, developing a 5-Year Capital & IT Plan, enhancing organizational processes, and advancing cost-reduction initiatives. The CFAO will collaborate closely with the university president, senior leaders, trustees, and the campus community, demonstrating leadership that is transparent, authentic, and empathetic.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategy for the university.
  • Lead optimization of new revenue and growth initiatives.
  • Oversee the implementation of a new finance system.
  • Develop a 5-Year Capital & IT Plan for the university.
  • Enhance processes and organizational structures.
  • Advance initiatives to lower costs and enhance affordability.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and trustees to align financial goals with university objectives.
  • Communicate financial information and plans effectively to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in financial leadership roles, preferably in higher education or similar sectors.
  • Strong understanding of financial strategy development and implementation.
  • Experience with financial systems and capital planning.
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on transparency and empathy.
