About the position

Thrasher is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team in Bridgeport, West Virginia. As a full-service architecture, engineering, and field services consulting firm, we pride ourselves on our rich history of project success across the Mid-Atlantic region. The CFO will play a pivotal role in the company's long-term success, working closely with the CEO and COO to ensure financial health and strategic growth. This position requires a leader who can oversee financial controls, reporting, and treasury banking relationships while ensuring tax compliance and optimization. The CFO will be responsible for preparing financial and operating reports, developing business guidelines, and managing profits and losses as well as balance sheet activities related to financial planning. In addition to financial oversight, the CFO will establish economic strategies and guidelines, demonstrating knowledge of performance management. This includes leading and managing a team of professionals across diverse financial functions, evaluating staff performance, and providing guidance to address any deficiencies. The role also involves ensuring accurate and timely recording of operating results, managing risk and audit processes, and planning for tax and cash flow. A working knowledge of cloud-based ERP software is essential, as is oversight of stockholders registry and monthly accruals to ensure correct general ledger entries. The CFO will also oversee risk management activities, including insurance coverage, contractual agreements, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Licensed CPA with a minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior-level financial leadership role.
  • Emotional intelligence and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in a consulting or professional services organization is highly desired.
  • Eagerness to stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build credibility and trust at all levels within the organization.
