About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Oregon Department of Justice's Administrative Services Division (ASD) is a leadership role responsible for coordinating the agency's budget, fiscal, and legislative activities. This position oversees budget-related legislative activities, prepares and delivers testimony, and serves as a liaison with key financial offices. The CFO is a member of the Executive Team and reports directly to the ASD Director, playing a crucial role in financial management and strategic planning within the agency.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all budget, fiscal, and legislative activities for the agency.
  • Oversee budget-related legislative and Emergency Board activities.
  • Prepare and deliver testimony to the legislature.
  • Track legislation related to the budget.
  • Represent the agency at the state legislature.
  • Serve as a liaison with the Department of Administrative Services Chief Financial Office and Legislative Fiscal Office budget analysts.
  • Provide management direction for the Agency's Financial Services section.
  • Coordinate the preparation and execution of the Agency's biennial budget.
  • Manage the legislative fiscal impact statements process.
  • Direct the Agency's financial management and reporting.
  • Provide Human Resource Management to the Financial Services Team.

Requirements

  • Five years of management experience.
  • OR two years of management experience AND a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in communicating complex financial information to non-financial leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal, planning, and critical thinking skills.
