About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Northeast is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing the financial operations and fiscal management of the facility. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with policies, and effective management of the revenue cycle to support the facility's operational and financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly in compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare corporate required reports including Monthly Operating Report and Forecasts accurately and on time.
  • Implement and maintain accounting and business office policies for clean audits.
  • Direct the operations of the Revenue Cycle to optimize accounts receivable collection.
  • Review revenue cycle metrics to proactively address performance issues.
  • Ensure insurance verification is completed for all patients and manage upfront collections.
  • Maintain knowledge of reimbursement methodologies to ensure accurate payments.
  • Supervise various departments including Accounting and Patient Accounting, ensuring adequate staffing and training.
  • Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, providing ongoing variance analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a business-related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of successful CFO experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous behavioral healthcare experience preferred.
  • Experience with proprietary healthcare systems preferred.
  • CPA or Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven financial analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with software packages including Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent communication skills.

  • Experience in a joint venture healthcare facility.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and managed care reimbursement methodologies.
