About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at McCallum Place Eating Disorder Centers is a key member of the senior leadership team responsible for overseeing the financial operations and fiscal management of the facility. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective management of the revenue cycle. The CFO will also participate in strategic planning and budgeting processes to achieve the facility's operational and financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that monthly financial statements are completed timely and accurately.
  • Ensures that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and in compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Prepares corporate required reports timely and accurately, including the Monthly Operating Report and Corporate Disclosures.
  • Ensures all accounting and business office policies and required internal controls are in place for a clean audit.
  • Directs the operations of the Revenue Cycle to ensure timely collection of accounts receivable.
  • Strives to achieve goals for cash collections and reduce bad debt and denials.
  • Routinely reviews revenue cycle metrics to identify and address performance issues.
  • Ensures Front End Revenue Cycle processes are in place, including insurance verification for all patients.
  • Maintains knowledge of federal, state, and managed care reimbursement methodologies.
  • Facilitates preparation of required cost reports.
  • Supervises various departments including Accounting and Patient Accounting, ensuring adequate staffing and training.
  • Prepares annual operating budget and participates in strategic planning processes.
  • Provides ongoing analysis of variances from budget and assists in implementing changes to achieve budget goals.
  • Prepares annual capital budgets and ensures accurate recording of assets and depreciation.
  • Provides financial leadership and guidance to facility managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business-related field.
  • Minimum 3 years successful CFO experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous Behavioral healthcare experience highly preferred.
  • Previous experience with a proprietary healthcare system highly preferred.
  • CPA or Master's degree a plus.
  • Proven financial analysis skills.
  • Experience with information technology and proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to think strategically and solve problems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and physicians.
  • Ability to lead with emotional intelligence and ethics.
