About the position

MyDentalWig is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of our dental chip startup. The CFO will be responsible for directing the overall financial plans, accounting practices, and treasury functions of the company, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles and overseeing financial reporting for management and the Board.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the company's accounting and financial activities, ensuring quality assurance for these functions.
  • Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements and operating reports with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain account reconciliations relative to the Balance Sheet.
  • Review trial balance and balance sheets at month-end.
  • Analyze expenses and monthly trends, preparing month-end closing reports.
  • Prepare, review, and control journal entries and postings to the general ledger.
  • Train and build the foundation of an Accounting & Office Staff.
  • Coordinate with accounting staff and other departments to ensure accurate, timely financial statements.
  • Review and recommend improvements on internal controls to enhance financial condition.
  • Prepare year-end work papers and coordinate with outside auditing firm for annual review.
  • Communicate with outside tax accounting firm to provide estimated book earnings for income tax calculations.
  • Prepare month-end financial reports including Balance Sheet, P&L, and Gross Profit analysis.

Requirements

  • MBA or PhD in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 10 years' experience in wholesale distribution or manufacturing, including inventory control and managing the general ledger.
  • Expert in securities and navigating the demands of the SEC.
  • 5 years of supervisory and management experience, preferably managing a team.
  • Ability to direct and coordinate activities of managers and staff in all administrative areas.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a key member of the management team, focusing on financial and cultural health.
  • Proficient with integrated accounting software, report writers, and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and FASB pronouncements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with U.S companies and U.S. SEC regulations is a must.
  • Proven ability to motivate people and instill accountability.
