About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Sierra Tucson is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing the financial operations and fiscal management of the facility. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective management of the revenue cycle. The CFO will play a crucial role in strategic planning and budgeting, contributing to the overall operational and financial goals of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly in compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare corporate required reports including Monthly Operating Report and Forecasts accurately and on time.
  • Implement and maintain accounting and business office policies for clean audits.
  • Direct the operations of the Revenue Cycle to optimize accounts receivable collections.
  • Review revenue cycle metrics to proactively address performance issues.
  • Ensure insurance verification is completed for all patients and manage upfront collections effectively.
  • Maintain knowledge of reimbursement methodologies to ensure accurate payments and revenue deductions.
  • Supervise various departments including Accounting and Patient Accounting, ensuring adequate staffing and training.
  • Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, providing analysis of variances from budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a business-related field with a major in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful CFO experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience in behavioral healthcare is highly preferred.
  • Experience with proprietary healthcare systems is highly preferred.
  • CPA or Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven financial analysis skills and proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and physicians.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a leadership role within a behavioral healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and managed care reimbursement methodologies.
