About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the YMCA of Greater Richmond will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the financial operations of the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial strength and sustainability of the YMCA, which serves over 200,000 individuals across multiple locations. The CFO will be responsible for driving financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, while collaborating with key stakeholders to align financial resources with the YMCA's mission of empowering communities and transforming lives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Build strong relationships with key volunteer leaders and committees, providing expert guidance.
  • Lead the development of comprehensive financial policies and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, treasury, and audit preparation.
  • Contribute to the YMCA's mission by enabling expansion and deepening impact through financial leadership.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale financial operations.
  • Experience working with volunteer leadership and non-profit boards/committees.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software platforms and automation for efficiency.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in non-profit and/or YMCA organizations.
  • Advanced degree in finance or MBA preferred.
