About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the financial strategy of the company. This includes overseeing financial planning and analysis, generating financial reports, managing accounting functions, ensuring compliance, and maintaining banking and financial relationships. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and the executive team to make informed decisions that align with the company's financial goals and operational strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance and accounting, coupled with leadership experience and a passion for driving growth within the organization. In addition to traditional financial responsibilities, the CFO will be instrumental in supporting the recently launched corporate growth strategy. This strategy focuses on developing a robust distribution network, implementing a comprehensive marketing approach, expanding product development, increasing production capacity, and accelerating customer acquisition in targeted markets. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, demonstrating a commitment to high ethical standards and a willingness to take on various responsibilities to foster the company's growth. The CFO will also be responsible for providing high-integrity financial reports, including detailed profit and loss statements, cash flow management, and balance sheets. They will support the CEO in preparing presentations and communications for the Board and stockholders, ensuring that all financial analyses and recommendations are thorough and actionable. Furthermore, the CFO will lead the development and implementation of an integrated financial system and provide financial leadership across various departments, including sales, marketing, and supply chain management. This role requires a proactive approach to financial oversight, strategic planning, and asset management, ensuring that the company remains on track to achieve its growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the CEO and participates as a member of the leadership team
  • Provides high integrity financial reports including robust P&L, cash flow management, balance sheet, notes
  • Supports CEO with Board and Stockholder reporting and communications including preparation of presentations, deep analysis, recommendations
  • Develops and implements high integrity ERP starting with integrated financial systems
  • Provides financial leadership for development and implementation of the corporate strategy including growth and the distribution strategy in collaboration with the director of growth
  • Provides financial leadership for the value chain, suppliers, sales and marketing, contracts, distributors, dealerships, representatives
  • Provides financial accounting and secures resources for capital investment
  • Provides high integrity financial analysis for manufacturing, distribution and inventory
  • Provides pro forma analyses for the Company and financial analysis for new product development, expansion, supply chain, manufacturing and strategic decisions
  • Develops financial models for all aspects of the business to anticipate and measure progress and decisions
  • Provides financial oversight for the entire enterprise
  • Provides leadership for Company Performance metrics and reports; custodian of corporate metrics and KPIs
  • Leads the funding strategy
  • Provides business analysis and support for local, regional, US and international operations
  • Analyzes revenue generation - sales, marketing, order fulfillment
  • Responsible for corporate accounting/financials - budgets, P&L, cash flow, balance sheet
  • Manages asset management - inventory
  • Maintains relationship with CPA as needed for expertise and oversight
  • Handles legal agreements and issues
  • Provides financial leadership for strategic planning - executes agreed upon strategy
  • Supports financial analysis for national growth - models, logistics, regions, support structure, installation
  • Reviews and approves all contracts including dealerships, distributors, representatives, contractors, suppliers, real estate, third party logistics, customers, etc.
  • Analyzes and supports all sales and revenue generation
  • Supports Human Resources including compensation packages, benchmarking, strategy
  • Analyzes all aspects of the company operations
  • Creates and maintains an effective Asset Management program
  • Sets up appropriate governance including policies, practices, requirements, guidelines, delegation of authority
  • Maintains appropriate cap tables and ownership records
  • Administers accounting including bookkeeping, procurement, receiving, budgets, people

Requirements

  • BS or BA in Accounting and/or Finance is required, Masters or MBA is preferred
  • 5-10 years as Controller, Finance Director or CFO
  • Startup, early stage, growth company experience is preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, distribution markets is preferred
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external communications are a must
  • Internal drive and motivation to develop and improve all aspects of the company are a must
  • Expert in finance, metrics, KPIs, statistics
  • Experience in contract development, negotiation and management
  • High energy level which exudes positivity and inspires action
