About the position

The Arc Davidson County & Greater Nashville is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their team. The CFO will play a crucial role in managing the organization's finances, ensuring effective cash management, budgeting, and financial reporting. This position requires a strategic leader who can adapt to changes in the financial landscape and communicate effectively with senior management and the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, as well as reporting for the same.
  • Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities.
  • Develop and implement best practices and tools for strong fiscal management and project coordination.
  • Comply with national, local, and nonprofit financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
  • Report to CEO and Board of Directors with monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on organizational and program budgets.
  • Work with senior managers to develop budget proposals and ensure contract/grant compliance.
  • Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments.
  • Oversee HR operations by coordinating with external service providers and internal staff.
  • Monitor business performance with tracking tools and establish corrective measures as needed.
  • Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, or finance.
  • Experience in nonprofit financial requirements.
  • Experience in government grants financial requirements and reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft 365, Adobe.
